The Michigan Department of Education (MDE) recognizes Safe Schools Week from October 14–18 to bring attention to the importance of creating safe and positive school environments. Middle School Families- As a district we continue to focus on Anti-Bullying during the month of October and continue throughout the year. Don't forget to have your child wear orange on Wednesdays to show we stand together against bullying. I just came across this insightful article/resource on anti-bullying that I think is really important for us to support conversations around mean behavior and anti-bullying with our kids. It's unique as it discusses the struggles with bullying specifically to Middle School. It offers some great tips on how to recognize bullying, how to stand up against it, and how to support each other.
